CHO Wines

From the Pacific Northwest in a valley surrounded by mountains, a couple planted roots and CHO wines was born.

CHO Wines is the first Korean-American owned and operated winery in Oregon. Founded in 2020 by Dave and Lois Cho, they craft elegant and inviting wines from higher elevation sites in Willamette Valley. Dave is the winemaker of CHO Wines.  Introduced to the world of wine while performing music at local wineries in Southern California, he grew his passion for the trade while meditating with monks in Burgundy and sipping his way through the iconic State.

Moving his family from California to Oregon, Dave pursued a career in the wine industry, gravitating towards more nuanced and delicate wines. With his degree in Enology & Viticulture from Oregon State, Dave worked with Oregon pioneer Argyle Wines and famed Stoller Family Estate. Itching to make autonomous decisions from vineyard to bottle,he jumped in head first to prepare his own small production label becoming the first Korean-American winemaker in Oregon.
Lois is Director of Operations at CHO Wines and Dave’s number one supporter.  A family nurse practitioner as well, Lois is the rock behind the family business!

Recently purchasing 77.24 acres of farmland, Dave and Lois are breaking ground on CHO Vineyards on the west flank of Chehalem Mountains below Bald Peak. Cho’s Pinot Noir is an excellent introduction to the Willamette Valley.
Ripe with red fruit aroma, bright and frisky on the palate, this knockout first vintage is dry, tart and full in the mouth with hints of earth and spice.

The name CHO symbolizes the celebration of our commonality. All living matter predominantly consists of the most basic elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen (CHO). ‘The building blocks of the food and drink we share at our table, the people we share it with, remind us that we are ALL connected here on earth.’

This dynamic husband and wife team are the perfect fit!  From the talent behind the wine to the expression in the glass we knew that Dave and Lois CHO and their beautiful wine had a home at GFG.
