Julien
Mus

The exclusiveness of its growing region and the mysteriousness of its blend makes Châteauneuf-du-Pape one of the most revered wines out there—and it’s here that we find Julien Mus.

Located in the Provencal village of Bédarrides with Mont Ventoux to the east and the hills of Châteauneuf du Pape to the west, the Mus family have been selling family grapes for generations. Breaking with tradition after completing his viticultural and wine-making studies at Beaune in Burgundy, Julien Mus returned to the village he was born and founded Domaine de la Graveirette with his first solo vintage in 2005.

The Domaine now consists of 11 ha producing wines under the appellations Châteaneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, and Vin de Pays de Vaucluse.

Working organically since 2012 and biodynamically since 2015, Julien shows great care in the cultivation of his grapes and the winemaking process, harvesting by hand, not employing additives, and using minimal sulfur. â€‹Now bottling under his name Julien Mus, all of the Mus wines are marked by a distinct character of refreshing acidity balanced with round, complex fruit.

From his Tempo to Source to La Crau, one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's most famous lieux-dits vineyards, all of Julien’s Châteauneuf-du-Papes have strayed away from the heaviness typically associated with this region, preferring a finesse and elegance in the glass. His Côtes du Rhone and Vins du Pays Ju de Vie share a commonality with the regal Chateau-Neufs, approachable and easy to drink with perfect balance of fruit and tannin. His whites are equally charming in their rarity, voluptuous and round with the right amount of acidity that leaves you begging for more.

Julien Mus is a find, a rare and humble winemaker who loves to mix tradition with the right blend of modernity. His ability to craft exquisite wines captures the timeless beauty of

Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
